Intro To Computers
This is a course which is taken by all KPMS 6th graders. Each day will begin with a 15-20 minute formal keyboarding lesson.
Each student will take on the role of owner and president of Palm Tree Surfboards, Inc. As the owner of this up-start company they must do all of the necessary tasks involved in getting the company off the ground. In doing so, they will develop skills in word processing, spreadsheet use, and graphic design. The students progress through the projects at their own pace. The only requirement is that each student works hard each and every day.
Note - Many teachers at Key Peninsula Middle School are using technology in their classrooms. As a result, many of the students at KPMS will be exposed to technology outside the "computer class" setting.
