Every year, the students in my digital photography classes produce work that borders on the professional.  Students learn about basic photographic elements and composition.  Among these elements they learn about light, shape, form, texture, framing and perspective.  The students learn about the use of shutter speed and aperture.  You can see techniques such as "the rule of thirds" and cropping used in their work.

Middle School students are very creative.  I encourage my students to experiment using the techniques they learn in class.  Students complete a handful of projects that focus on macro photography, photographing people, and photo editing among others.  You can see their work on display in the Gig Harbor Multicare Building.  Read about the program in the fall edition of South Sound Magazine.
