First quarter I told Sky that she was underachieving. Occasionally her homework would not get turned in on time and she would lose points as a result. She would make errors on her exams that could be easily corrected, however, she would not take the time to make the exams up. Then, came second quarter. Skylar decided to make a change in her work ethic. As a result... she achieved top cougar status.
The start of the second semester of the school year was difficult for me as a teacher. My wife was diagnosed with cancer. It was tough on my students, as well. As with Skylar, the rest of my students had begun to respond to my drive to improve their work ethic. They had just begun to believe in themselves as math students. Just at that point, several substitutes passed |

through my classroom for well over a month while I attended to my family issues. The weekly, and sometimes daily change, had begun to take a toll on my classes. Finally, Mr. Charlie Hall took over in my room and did a very commendable job with my students. During all of this turmoil and transition Skylar worked diligently, maintained a very high grade, and provided leadership for her peers. Simply put, Skylar was an ABSOLUTE top cougar.
Sky's favorite sport is soccer and she has been playing the game since she was six years old. She still plays and was a member of the KPMS seventh grade team during the 03-04 school year. Next to playing soccer, Sky's favorite thing to do is eat lobster... yum! Mike Hunziker Here's what other teachers had to say about Skylar:
"Sheena was a great student to have in drama. She was always smiling and positive and willing to work with anyone that I paired her with. She was an excellent actress who was always willing to learn and improve her skills." Jason McWhirter
